Polarização das Antenas

Para iniciarmos este assunto, vamos começar com as antenas de polarização VERTICAL, essas tenho certeza que são as mais conhecidas, se você tem uma antena de rádio no carro essa pode ter certeza que é de polarização vertical, normalmente essas antenas estão perpendicular ao plano do terra. Sabemos que as ondas hertzianas são compostas de dois campos que se encontram em um angulo reto: o campo elétrico (chamado plano "E") e o campo magnético (chamado de plano "H"). Uma antena fisicamente na vertical emite um campo elétrico na vertical e um campo magnético na horizontal. A polarização de uma antena se refere ao plano "E" ou campo elétrico que coincidentemente é a mesma que a posição física da antena. A grande vantagem de se usar uma antena em sua estação com polarização vertical é que se você reparar todas as repetidoras, estações em automóveis, HT's e estações fixas com antenas omini-direcionais estão na mesma posição (vertical), pois caso você tente receber um sinal polarizado verticalmente com uma antena polarizada horizontalmente você terá uma perda de sinal que na prática ultrapassa os 20dB, ou seja, as duas antenas transmissoras e receptoras têm que estar com a mesma polarização. A desvantagem da polarização vertical é que se você reparar nos obstáculos ao seu redor vai perceber que todos possuem formatos verticais, sejam eles naturais ou artificiais, de uma certa forma sempre são verticais, olhem a silhueta da sua cidade, prédios, arvores, postes, torres e até mesmo a própria ondulação do terreno são verticais em sua altura! Já podemos entender que "sinal vertical casa com antena vertical, mas sinal vertical não casa com antena horizontal" e vice-versa. Por isso a "verticalidade" dos obstáculos tendem a casar com os sinais emitidos pela sua antena, portanto tende também a absorver o sinal. Por isso se diz que polarização horizontal emitida por antenas instaladas horizontalmente resulta em um sinal mais favorável em qualquer tipo de terreno. Esse fenômeno observado na polarização vertical só ocorre em freqüências de VHF e acima, já com a polarização horizontal conseguimos minimizar muito esse efeito de absorção e reflexão melhorando assim muito a comunicação entre duas estações distantes, mas lembrem-se as duas estações terão que utilizar a mesma orientação na polarização das antenas. Outra coisa importante que eu não podia deixar de comentar é que a grande maioria das interferências nos sistemas de comunicação são causadas pelo próprio homem, ignição de veículos, motores de escova, chispas diversas são pragas predominantemente de polarização vertical, portanto captadas com maior intensidade por antenas de mesma polarização (vertical!)

Existe um outro tipo de antenas que são capazes de gerar um tipo de polarização não muito conhecido, ou melhor não muito falado, mas que é muito usado no âmbito profissional, são as antenas com polarização circular que podem ser antenas helicoidais ou as Yagi cruzadas com polarização circular a esquerda ou a direita, também conhecida como RHCP (Right Hand Circular Polarization) ou LHCP (Left Hand Circular Polarization).
